The Enchanting Roads of Wayanad

A Pathway in the Kuruva Island.

“There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in it’s roar:
I love not Man the less, but Nature more.”
~Lord Byron

Wayanad is the least populated district in the north-east of Kerala,India.

Covered by a large amount of dry and moist deciduous forest, Wayanad is home to many endangered species and, the Western Ghats mountain ranges coupled with several water bodies and wildlife are attractions for leisure tourists.

There is nothing so enchanting like a ride or walk in the isolated beautiful pathways and roads of Wayanad. One could enjoy nature in it’s fullness!!

Hairpin turnings of the highway roads of Wayanad
To ride in places where all you could see around is the green of trees is indeed a blessing!

This pathway near the Lake of Pookodu took me deep into the forest….
One of the best roads I traveled is this on my way to Kuruva Island of Wayanad. The plants here forms an amazing wall on both sides of the road….
